Beyond Us & Them (formerly Center for Council) is the leading solution-focused nonprofit organization aimed at ending the loneliness epidemic and fostering social connection. Based in Los Angeles, Beyond Us & Them offers practical, evidence-based solutions to enhance well-being, disrupt division, nurture relationships, and deliver tangible results. Our programs are rooted in council and are shown to improve social cohesion, resilience, individual and community wellness through practical, replicable & evidence-based programs. Beyond Us & Them offers transformative programs that resource individuals and organizations in self-awareness, self-regulation, effective communication and embodied compassion to cultivate wellness, relationality, compassion and resilience. Our programs are found in schools, organizations, healthcare, prisons, Los Angeles reentry, and in law enforcement. In addition to extensive programming, Beyond Us & Them offers in-person public council training workshops and virtual social connection councils that are available to anyone who’s interested in deepening their council practice. More information on public council offerings can be found here. 15 continuing education credits are available for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences when completing a Foundations of Council Training course.
