No One Walks Alone – a poem

This poem is a call for the whole and human in all of us to sit in circle and open the heart.

An offering through Veteran Rites by its Executive Director Cj Ryan E. Mielcarek .

Much gratitude for such offering. May it be.

No One Walks Alone

I hear the train roll steady, across the midnight sky,

A thousand stars above you, lanterns hung up high.

The gates are always open, the table set with grace,

For every tested traveler who’s fought the long, hard race.

The altar keeps its vigil, a flame that never dies,

A porch light in the darkness, opals in the skies.

And brothers, sisters, family, no matter where you roam,

The circle’s wide and waiting to witness the weary home.

You carried weight of battles, the silence and the scars,

But here the bread is broken beneath forgiving stars.

No uniform or burden can keep your soul apart,

For love’s the law of heaven and courage lights the heart.

So come and take your seat now, your story’s heard and known.

This fire is forever; no one walks alone.

With every step you’re honored, the path is clear and true.

The council is a-callin’: “We’ve saved this place for you.”
