Throughout 2018 the Israeli organization Together Beyond Words conducted 12 events in which a Playback Theater group of Arab and Jewish actresses performed in front of an audience on topics related to various international and national events. They addressed issues such as “Civil Rights Day,” “Unity among Residents in Israel,” “Different Narratives of the 1948 War,” “Violence against women,” “Friendship between Arab and Jewish youth,” and more. After each performance listening circles were held with the audience. The performances evoked stories from audience members that were later shared in the circles. The events were powerful for all participants.
