Center for Council - Southern California
Center for Council is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that evolved from The Ojai Foundation’s Center for Council Training division and became an independent organization in 2014. Center for Council envisions a world in which every voice is heard, no one is invisible, and everyone has the opportunity to connect to community. To achieve this vision, Center for Council’s mission is to deliver programs that promote communication, enhance well-being, build community, and foster compassion. Center for Council’s trainings and programs promote social and restorative justice, serving schools, community-based organizations, law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, incarcerated populations and private businesses. Center for Council utilizes the practice of council and mindfulness to enable individuals to be seen and heard, to develop tools for increased communication and engagement, to find common ground, and to create compassionate and thriving communities. Center for Council offers a wide range of public workshops and professional trainings in the practice of council, including the “Council Training Level 1, 2 & 3” originally developed at The Ojai Foundation. Council-based programs are customized to suit the needs of a variety of businesses, communities and systems.
