(Prerequisite Level One)
Lori Austein and Leon Berg
Circles of Resilience
Held over Zoom in two parts:
Sundays on September 19, 26 & October 3, 10
Part 2: Sundays on Nov 7, 14, 21, 28, 2021
10:00 am – 12:00 pm pacific
19:00 – 21:00 CEST
Council Two is designed for those who have been facilitating council and have had the opportunity to experience challenges such as conflict and “shadow” in the circle and are ready to deepen their practice. It is for facilitators who have recognized some of their own resistance or places they don’t feel comfortable going in council that may be hindering their practice. We explore moving beyond one’s comfort zone into the growth zone in service of the circle.
Ongoing practices to facilitate self-regulation and group resilience, as well as modeling how to support a group to “turn into the skid” while maintaining containment and safety will be part of this program. Further experience with the various forms of council and developing facility in types of witnessing and “reading the interactive field” are also highlighted. Learning to develop the “witness perspective” is a core competency of a council facilitator.
Along the way we will have fun with activities that build group coherence while embracing diversity and our home play will continue to provide opportunities to reflect on our practice and to connect deeply with each other.
The program will build your confidence to facilitate in the online and in person spaces. The online space allows us to share a training cohort with an international community. There are no borders on Zoom.
There is a break in the middle of the eight sessions for practice and reflection councils. Sometimes it is in the space in between that great learning happens.
Tuition: $ 300-400 (sliding scale).
